LITIGATION AND FORENSIC ACCOUNTING EXPERT
Job Description
Business Valuation, Inc. (“BVI”) is seeking an experienced litigation and forensic accounting expert with client management skills to join its growing practice. We are looking for someone who has been providing forensic analysis expertise and testimony for 5-10 years. Valuation experience is a plus. Please note that we will not accept applications that do not meet these criteria. Applicant must be located in or willing to relocate to Northeast Florida.
BVI is a prominent, successful Jacksonville, Florida based business valuation and consulting firm. This position will play a critical role in delivering expert services for BVI’s clients. The litigation and forensic accounting expert will oversee all phases of and perform all aspects of litigation and forensic accounting analyses and testimony.
Responsibilities
- Preparing forensic, economic, and other analyses to support engagements. This work may include conducting forensic analysis, preparing reports, expert testimony and directing and overseeing analysts and staff efforts.
- Communicating with clients and their professional advisors throughout the engagement. This communication will be through written reports and presentations.
- Maintain high levels of service for existing clients to ensure continued strong relationships.
Required Skills
- Extensive knowledge of economics, forensic accounting, or valuation theory
- Experience with litigation support requirements and expert testimony
- Exceptional oral and writing skills
- Ability to deliver high quality work and withstand intense scrutiny of work product
- Ability to communicate with business owners and professional advisors to ensure delivery of exceptional client service
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in an incentive-based environment
- Ability to develop business or ability to learn to develop business. Applicant will work with Managing Director to develop business pipeline.
Credentials
- Advanced Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
- Expert must have three licenses or certifications out of the following: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or other similar designations.
- Small firm experience a plus.
