MEET CAMERON FREEMAN
Cameron is a finance major and economic researcher entering his third year at the University of North Florida. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Cameron takes pride in working and studying in this vibrant city.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
While Cameron holds the job title of an intern, he considers himself more of a junior analyst. His role at Business Valuation Inc. involves supporting the analyst team through financial modeling and valuation report drafting. Additionally, Cameron applies his research skills whenever one of the directors embarks on a unique consulting project.
GROWING WITH BVI
At BVI, Cameron immersed himself in financial modeling and writing. He’s been able to complement his academic studies by working with real-world company data and understanding the factors influencing its value. Effectively communicating this information is crucial for analysts in the professional realm, and Cameron is pleased to hone these skills so early in his undergraduate journey.
COMPANY’S CULTURE
At BVI, Cameron values the outstanding support from his team. Everyone, from the analysts to the directors, is always eager to clarify concepts and address inquiries. He feels he has learned as much in this environment as in his finance classes.
INTERNSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
Cameron’s favorite aspect of working in his current position is witnessing the practical operations of the valuation and investment banking sectors. He supports projects across various valuation stages, litigation support, and M&A processes. Each experience has provided him with a broader perspective on the tasks performed at the organization.
TAKING THE LEAP
The internship aligns with Cameron’s aspiration to navigate the realms of financial services and investments, as it offers profound insight into business valuation. The most proficient analysts, irrespective of their specific finance niche, grasp how companies are valued and the dynamics affecting that value. Proficiency in this domain significantly enhances Cameron’s skill set.
A PIECE OF ADVICE
Cameron’s advice for future interns: Understand that merit in the office isn’t determined solely by experience. Even if you’re at the beginning of your career, your keen intuition and critical thinking skills can command the respect and appreciation of your colleagues. Trust in your abilities, and don’t hesitate to share your insights.
At BVI, we’re proud of Cameron and all our interns who work diligently to learn and grow daily. Their unwavering dedication exemplifies our commitment to fostering youthful talent.
